Yosemite

We spent the night at a lovely little hotel called the Creekside Inn in Bishop, CA.  The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the breakfast was hot and delicious.  They even had scones!  I highly recommend this hotel if you are ever in that part of California. 

We drove onward to Yosemite.  Along the way, there were many beautiful mountains, so we stopped and took pictures.

 Once we were inside the park, there were more amazing mountains.  

 

We stopped at a place called Tuolumne Valley.  There was a visitor's center, and a large meadow with a stream running through it.  We ate some lunch, and then hiked the soda springs path. 

We decided to continue onward to the Half Dome path, but then it started raining.  The temperature dropped, and the rain seemed to become slushy.  Then little white balls of ice began to hit the windshield.  It was hailing!  The hail was so hard that we had to stop.  The hail stones were pea sized to garbanzo bean sized, and soon covered the ground.

  

   

After that, we decided to call it a day at Yosemite, and drove on to our hotel in Oakdale, CA.  We went to eat at Papapolloni Mediterranean Bistro, which had homemade pita and very good gyros.  Then we went to bed early.  Our bodies are still getting used to the time difference!
